Doctor Who Movie Still in the Pipeline?

Could it be? Could it truly be?

After speculations that there would be a Doctor Who movie and Russell T. Davies saying there wouldn't be in a ''will they, won't they'' type of scenario, new information is giving me hope that the BBC is indeed working on the Doctor who movie!!

Life, Doctor Who and Combom has posted a transcript of a BBC Radio One interview with Billie Piper which suggests that it is so.

Sara Cox: Doctor Who, the movie, theres rumours about that. And, apparently, the producers want you and David Tennant, to be in it?

Billie Piper: Well, I heard they are doing it, and I know that they want David to do it.

Sara Cox: Oh, so there is a grain of truth to it.

Billie Piper: I think there is.

Zachary Quinto's new Star Trek role

Cryptic's Star Trek Online new Emergency Medical Hologram Mark VI

We all know that actor Zachary Quinto, Heroes's beloved villain Sylar and Star Trek's Spock has been providing some voice work for the upcoming Cryptic's Star Trek Online MMORPG for the PC.

However, the actor is not reprising the role of Spock but rather he is voicing the new Emergency Medical Hologram Mark VI who happens to be a Vulcan!

As for the reasons for making this game, Quinto says: I did this game to make an investment in the fan base.

The interview he gave for Wired also led to some people speculating that the actor was not reprising his Spock role in the next Star Trek movie. When the actor was reported as saying ''I’m stepping away from Star Trek for at least two years — no movies, no conventions, no anything for a while'' Quinto had to make an official statement on his website yesterday saying:

i have been inundated with questions and confusion about a comment i made during an interview with wired - about the new atari star trek online game - in which i said i am stepping away from trek for the next two years. obviously i will be a part of any upcoming films... reprising my role as spock. what i meant was that in the meantime i won't be making any public appearances related to the franchise - or doing any more auxiliary projects pertaining to the trek universe. i will be focusing my efforts on other projects and preparing to shoot the next film - which will be released in june of 2012... two years from now. hence the no trek for two years remark. worry not trekkers. it was a misunderstanding of context. i am not spock. but i am spock. all at the same time.

No upcoming Star Trek Conventions for Quinto means huge disappointment for the fans that were planning on meeting him at the next Star Trek Las Vegas convention in august.

In other news, Zachary Quinto's original Spock counterpart - or Spock Prime as he is now called - Leonard Nimoy, also voices the game coming out on february 2nd.

Doctor Who Series 5 Finale Rumours

While there are not much news of substance these days concerning the upcoming season of Doctor Who, this should change soon because the series is expected to debut around Easter time (fingers crossed) in the UK.

However, there are a few rumours running around.

Life, Doctor Who and Combom reports that the Daleks may be in the season finale and that they will film the episode at Stonehenge.

Also, there are rumours that we could see the Cybermen from this Universe as well as the Cybermen from Pete's World (parallel Universe).

River Song may also be travelling with the Doctor for a few episodes.

Billie Piper on David Tennant and Matt Smith Doctor Who

In a recent interview about her current show Secret Diary of a Call Girl Billie Piper, who played companion Rose Tyler on Doctor Who, talked about how she felt about David Tennant's departure.

Yes, I hate it that he's left! But then I know Matt Smith really well and I love him and I think he's such a brilliant actor. The role couldn't have gone to a better guy. He's capable of that. He's got big shoes to fill, but I'm certain he can do it.

She also talked about whether there was the possiblity of Rose returning once again to Doctor Who

I think it's done now, isn't it? I think that ship has sailed. That old, wooden ship! I really loved doing it, but Doctor Who has moved on - it's different people, different crew, different production team and I can't keep going back. It's ridiculous! It's time to move on...

Although Piper doesn't seem to think there's anymore to say about Rose, I don't think it's impossible. We still have the Meta-Crisis Doctor running around with her in the parallel world. I certainly can see a story where a future Doctor will get to cross paths with his human Tenth incarnation.

Orci and Kurtzman Q&A on Star Trek and its Sequel

Trek Movie has posted excerpts from a Q & A with Star Trek writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman given at the WGA theater in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night. It's part of of a series of screenings for WGA nominees.

My favourite bit concerns their explanation of the Spock/Uhura kiss and romance

Orci: Well you know Oedipally you marry your mother [laughs], and his mother was human. Part of our take was that we were going to harmonize with canon. So in the original series, the first interracial kiss was between William Shatner and Nichelle Nichols, and we thought in this, what is the harmony of that? And the harmony is the first inter-species kiss. It is Uhura and Spock. Well, number one he is younger and not as in control of his emotions. And number two, he has just lost his mother, who he has apologized to for saying "I hope you don’t feel I am rejecting all that it human by perusing Kolinahr," the Vulcan purging of all emotions. So in losing her, showing his emotions to Uhura is a way of keeping her.

On the sequel Orci said:

We would never do a remake….it will be some time in the five year mission. But that is a question. Should we pick them up immediately the next day or should it be later, we are still discussing that.

Stephen Fry to Write for Doctor Who?

Stephen Fry mentioned his interest in writing an episode of Doctor Who.

Apparently he had already been approached at the time David Tennant was in the title role but had never gotten around to it.

About working for Doctor Who in the future he said:

I look forward so much to seeing Matt Smith and I'm sure he's going to be wonderful. If I get time it'll be a thrill, I can't think of anything nicer

Torchwood to go USA!!

FOX is developping a US version of Torchwood, the sucessful Doctor Who spinoff!

The original creating team of Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner is on board the project and apparently the sorylines will be more global rather than UK based.

The project is from the BBC Worldwide Production and Davies will be writing the scripts.

It also appears that some of the Torchwood cast - which now limits itself to John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness and Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper may star in the US version. Most likely Barrowman will be the ideal candidate.

In my opinion, this is most likely a whole new Torchwood Team based in the USA and definitely not a remake. Captain Jack Harkness may now be saving the world from somewhere in North America. All I can say is WOW!!! This is Big news.

Star Trek Voyager Turned 15 Years Old!

2 days ago, Star Trek Voyager turned 15 years old. It first aired way back when on January 16th 1995 with the Caretaker 2-parter that saw the Voyager crew stranded in the Delta Quadrant for 7 years.

I know I am in the minority but I'm very fond of that series, being my second favourite after Star Trek: TNG.

Amy Pond's Real Profession Revealed on Doctor Who

All's not what it appears to be with the Eleventh Doctor's new companion!

Apparently, Amy Pond is not a real policewoman, as evidenced by her short skirt, but rather she is a kissogram! That would certainly explain the kiss we see her give him in the trailer.

This move appears to be part of Steven Moffat's new direction for Doctor Who.

Well, that certainly is a new twist in a companion's profession! I wonder how many people will grab their heads in front of their television screens and cry their outrage at this! Following the anti-ginger outcry from some people, I'm quite certain the BBC will be ready to receive a new onslaught of complaints.

Tobey Maguire Cast as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit?

This morning, rumors and stories have started claiming that ex-Spiderman lead Tobey Maguire has actually signed on to be Bilbo Baggins in the upcoming movie The Hobbit.

Apparently, Peter Jackson and Del Toro have been after Maguire for months :

Last night a source told The Sun: "The Hobbit team are deep in the casting process.
"Everyone is over the moon. Tobey is not only one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood, he is also one of the best actors."

The story was broken in The Sun, so it's still to be taken with a grain of salt.

But it could be true. Myself, I can very well see Maguire as a young Bilbo Baggins.

The Movie will be produced by Peter Jackson, with Guillermo Del Toro directing. Filming is set to commence this summer, and the movie will be split in two with part one airing in 2011 and part 2 in 2012.

Harry Potter Actress to be on Doctor Who

Seems that Harry Potter actress Helen McCrory who plays Narcissa Malfoy, Lucius's mother, will be appearing in the upcoming Doctor Who series 5 episode Vampires in Venice.

David Tennant Beats Chris Pine

Okay, not literally, but over at Total Sci-Fi Online, David Tennant, who was last seen in his 10th Doctor Incarnation on Doctor Who: The End of Time, was voted Best Actor overall for TV or Film. He thus beat Chris Pine, who played Captain James T. Kirk in the new Star Trek movie.

Supernatural won Best TV Show, Star Trek was voted Best Movie and Best Special Effects and Zoe Saldana (Uhura) was chosen as Best Actress.

Star Trek Script Start Date

After practically getting no news from JJ Abrams himself, co-writer Damon Lindeloff at least gave us something to hang on to.

According to Lindeloff he, Abrams, and co-writers Roberto Orci and Alex Krutzman should start writing the script to the Star Trek Sequel in April, when they have finished writing the Lost scripts.

This is at least some good news.

JJ Abrams Update on the Star Trek Sequel

So we have a release date of june 29th 2012 for the next Star Trek movie. But what don't we have?

Asked by Collider.Com about whether he had decided to direct the Star Trek Sequel JJ Abrams answered:

No. We don’t have a script yet or anything, but we have a release date (June 29, 2012). There’s a release date, but we’re still working on the script. The idea is that they have faith in this team.

Thus as of now according to Abrams we have no director and no due date for a script

And for all intents and purposes no storyline yet?

I know the sequel is 2 years away but it would be nice to know something about it. Or maybe I'm being too impatient.

A Doctor Who/Star Trek Crossover and Other Revelations

Okay, so, back in 2004, it seems that there were plans to have a Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover. However Enterprise, the Star Trek series playing at the time, was axed before it could have happened.

Just to think that it could have happened makes me squee with total fangirl delight. Ah, the possibilities!!!

The information was taken from Doctor Who The Writer's Tale: The Final Chapter just published in the UK.

SFX made a list of 20 things they learned from the reading of the book.

Amongst other interesting points made was that there was a line that was ultimately cut from the scene where the Doctor talks to Wilf on the Vinvocci's spaceship. Supposedly the Doctor would have told Wilf that he “was half-human back in 1999 for a couple of days.” This line would have referred to the 1996 Paul McGann Doctor Who movie.

Doctor Who Series 5 Trailer Break-Down

Io9 also decided to have it's own analysis of the new Doctor Who series 5 trailer. It's a nice little pictorial analysis and has some interesting information and thoughts about what we can expect to look forward to when series 5 begins in the spring.

Note that Toby Whithouse's episode is the third one and is about Vampires in 16th century Venice. Hmmmm. Are these the same kind of vampires that are in his Being Human series I wonder? Oh, and the title is Vampires in Venice.

Also Mark Gatiss is writing the WWII episode with Churchill and the Daleks while Chris Chibnall is writing the Silurian two-parter.

Star Trek Enterprise's Scott Bakula to Return on Chuck

It seems that the former Enterprise Captain has signed on for multiple episodes for season 3 of Chuck.

This is great news because I really like Scott Bakula and loved him as Steve Bartowski, Chuck's dad and creator of the Intersect.

Apparently his comeback would happen towards the end of season 3. Josh Schwartz, Chuck executive producer, calls it the biggest thing we’ve ever done on the show.

Chuck is linked to Star Trek not only through Scott Bakula, but also through Robert Duncan McNeil who is supervising Producer on Chuck and who played Lieutenant Tom Paris on Star Trek Voyager. Former Voyager co-star Robert Picardo also appeared in one Chuck episode.

Scott Bakula currently co-stars in Men of a Certain Age alongside Ray Romano and Andre Braugher

Star Trek XII Tentatively Set for June 29th 2012

Over at Trek Movie, the story broke that the eagerly anticipated sequel to Star Trek XI will finally hit our screens in the summer of 2012, on June 29th.

Though originally they had hoped for a summer 2011 release, this is the date that was chosen, increasing chances that the very busy JJ Abrams would direct the second movie.

Torchwood Series 4 to Partially Take Place in the States?

There is a story floating around that says that Torchwood may get more international for series 4. Apparently, a source on the Outpost Skaro message board claims that the BBC is looking for more of an international flavor to the series - especially America - and that:

“Cashing in on the series popularity stateside, one of the suggested ideas is a twisty turny time travel tale which will include the appearance of a few sci-fi luminaries including Nathan Fillion as another Time Agent, Brent Spiner as ‘a senator’ and the return of James Marsters as Captain John.”

The source also mentions that they are only at the discussion phase.

Please, take this story with a HUGE grain of salt. I personnaly think this is just wild speculations and a fan's personnal sci-fi wet dream. However, stranger things have happened so we'll see. Stay tuned.

Identity of the Mysterious Time Lady on Doctor Who Revealed!!

The identity of the mysterious Time Lady that sporadically appeared to Wilf and whom the Doctor saw at a crucial moment in The End of Time two-parter has been revealed!

It appears that Claire Bloom was indeed playing the Doctor's Mother!!

Well in Russell T. Davies's mind at least. Who knows what Steven Moffat will decide to do with that if he ever brings her character back.

The story was just posted over at Life, Doctor Who and Combom and the information was taken from the newly released (in the UK at least) Doctor Who The Writer's Tale The Final Chapter .

I'm waiting to get my hands on this book here in North America hopefully by the end of the month.

Russell Tovey to Be on Torchwood?

Digital Spy reports on an article published in Doctor Who Magazine #417 in which John Barrowman has hinted at the possibility of having Midshipman Frame, who last appeared in the Doctor Who special The End of Time, on Torchwood.

What I'd love, what I think would be great, is if Midshipman Frame became Jack's companion in Torchwood. He's the perfect companion for Jack.

It's funny because Russell Tovey also mentioned something similar in his interview and I talked about it here. Is it possible that he will be a member of the future Torchwood team? The actor doesn't seem to shy away from taking many roles at once.

Wedding Bells on Heroes? *spoilery*

Heroes actor James Kyson Lee spoke to Digital Spy about a possible upcoming wedding between his character Ando and his best friend Hiro's sister, Kimiko.

''It might be a fun way to end the season - or maybe we'll see it next year," he said. "It's funny - I almost felt like they were destined to be together but it's always awkward marrying your best friend's sister!''

This is an unsurprising development for the characters but the actor seems to be optimistic about a season 5.

Russel Tovey Interview

Russell Tovey who plays sweet werewolf George on the BBC hit series Being Human has given a very interesting interview where he talks about the upcoming series 2 of the show, playing Alonso Frame on Doctor Who, and what's next for him.

Amongst the highlights we learn that Nina will be living in the house with our trio, that George goes a bit darker, that Annie's in harmony with herself and that Mitchell is more in control of his blood cravings - actually abstaining from blood.

From what he reveals, I gather that Nina has not turned into a werewolf yet and that we may yet see Midshipman Frame again. Perhaps on Torchwood?

Doctor Who and the BBC Anti-Ginger?

Seriously, this story has made me laugh a lot this morning by its utter ridiculousness.

Apparently the BBC has received complaints that it was anti-ginger and that it was insulting people with red-hair!!!

We've received complaints from viewers who believed a line in Doctor Who: The End of Time was insulting to people with ginger hair.

This follows the comment made by the Eleventh Doctor after regeneration that he still wasn't ginger, in reference to what the tenth Doctor said right after his own regeneration.

The BBC had to point out that it wasn't the case, and offered as prrof that both companions Donna Noble and Amy Pond were red heads.

This was a reprise of the line in 'The Christmas Invasion' episode in 2005, when David Tennant discovers that he's not ginger, and here he is, missing out again - disappointed he's still not ginger.

In addition, the Doctor's previous companion Donna Noble [Catherine Tate] and his new one Amy Pond [Karen Gillan] are both redheads.

I'm thinking there are some people who have nothing better to do with their lives. Seriously.

"My character will be less tolerant than a lot of those who have gone before him"

The BBC is Comitted to Series 5 of Doctor Who

Wales Online published an article yesterday indicating that the BBC was comitted to the upcoming series 5 of Doctor Who with new Series showrunner Stephen Moffat, new Doctor, 28 year old Matt Smith and new Companion Amy Pond.

Here's an excerpt of the article:

Julian Payne, head of communications at BBC Vision, told the Western Mail it was a “fantastically exciting” time for fans.
“Doctor Who has regeneration at its very core, and it’s what provides the show with its longevity,” he said.
“We view it as a very exciting opportunity for the show. We remain hugely committed to the brand of Doctor Who in all its forms, and we have a wonderful new team in place who are very excited about taking the show on new adventures.”

I myself have no worries that the show will still do incredibly well, particularly with Steven Moffat at the helm. And though many have complained about the fact that Matt Smitt is not as gorgeous as David Tennant (I myself find him not so bad to look at), I'm quite sure he will capably make us love the Eleventh Doctor nonetheles.

Russell T. Davies and His Favourite Doctor Who Moments

The Times Online conducted an Interview with Russell T. Davies, former Doctor Who show runner to ask him what his 10 favourite Doctor Moments- in the four years of show running - were.

The first 5 are:

1 Rose and the Doctor’s final goodbye, Doomsday (2006)
The Doctor burns up a sun to say goodbye to Rose. I love this because it happens in the episode where the Daleks and Cybermen meet for the first time. The ultimate intergalactic smackdown — but the whole thing’s a romantic weepie in disguise! Ha ha! After we’d shot it, David and Billie had to go and have a good hug in the van. But I always knew I’d have to split up the Doctor and Rose — they were devoted to each other, there’s no way she’d go and marry King of the Zobulans, or stay at home with mum. So that huge, huge plot of parallel universes — Daleks one side, Cybermen the other, Earth in the middle and all that — only existed to put two characters on either side of a wall. You sort of work backwards, really.

2 Donna and the Doctor meet again, Partners in Crime (2008)
The Doctor meets Donna again — him in the window, her at the door, and they mime the whole scene at each other. How funny were David and Catherine — how much did they grab that scene?! I also love the fact that it’s so perverse — when we cast Catherine, every fan seemed to be in dread of her delivering a comedy Nan- type performance, so to allay all their worries ... I give her the funniest scene ever! Hah.

3 “I think you need a Doctor”, The Parting of the Waves (2005)
Rose has accidentally got the entire power of the Tardis stuck in her head, is losing her mind, and can be saved only by a diagnosis (“You need a doctor”) and treatment (their first kiss) from Chris Eccleston. This is the perversity of DoctorWho — you can clash styles like a hooligan. This show ram- raids genres. Because that’s a great big chunk of An Officer and a Gentleman- style dialogue rammed into the middle of an enormous Dalek invasion of Earth! Not a natural mix, but exciting! Oh I love Doctor Who, I LOVE IT.

4 Grandma has no face, The Idiot’s Lantern (2006)
An ordinary terraced house in 1952. A mysterious knocking on the ceiling. The Doctor and Rose run upstairs, to Gran’s bedroom, burst in, and — she’s got no face! The grandmother has no face!! That’s not gonna be in many Top 10 lists, but that’s the point — it’s terrifying and surreal, but it’s normal, now. In 2004, that would have been Fantasy Highlight of the Year; now, it’s everyday, it’s just another great Doctor Who scene. That’s how much the temperature has raised. Plus, it’s written by Mark Gatiss, whom we adore.

5 The “Oh — so that’s why alien robots were trying to kill Madame de Pompadour! Amazing!” plot-resolution, The Girl in the Fireplace (2006)
Written by Steven Moffat — just in case this becomes me, me, me. Best thing about it is, he loves, she dies, we blub — then in the very last second it’s revealed that the name of the spaceship, which is the motive for the whole plot, is SS Madame de Pompadour. It’s that mash-up again — the Greatest Weepie of All Time suddenly ends in a smack-bang sci-fi Twilight Zone plot twist.

Recently, I had the great pleasure of sending some interview questions to the lovely Dawn Olivieri who is one of the newest cast members on Heroes. Miss Olivieri plays the mysterious Lydia, who has some sort of empathic power where she can see and give information about the people appearing on her tattoed skin with the ink provided by Samuel. The character was even featured in the Web Exclusive Sprint series Slowburn.

Miss Olivieri is no stranger to Sci-Fi, having appeared in a guest role on the last season of another famous franchise: Stargate Atlantis, as a thief by the name of Neeva, as well as on Knight Rider. On Heroes, she brings much poise and luminosity to the show and it is always a pleasure to see her.

As the mysterious Lydia, you are one of the newest cast members in the Heroes family. How do you feel about coming into such a big ensemble show?
If i had really stopped to think about it too much it would have probably been more overwhelming then it was. I was lucky because i joined the show at the very beginning of the new season and ushered in a much needed, well received chapter in Heroes history.

We do not know yet whether Lydia is a good or bad character since most of Samuel’s and the Carnival’s history and motivations are still hidden from the viewers (as of episode 5). Have the writers given you any hindsight into who she is and where she comes from in order to play her?
When i was brought on as Lydia, I had a brief meeting with some of the writers regarding her but not much character direction was given. They expressed their intention of "letting me discover her" so creating Lydia was a collaborative effort. In the original breakdown, it described a "gullible" tattoo girl...this i chose to ignore, No one with all of her insight and knowledge would be "gullible" at least not REALLY;)

We have learned that Lydia’s a mother from the webisodes and that only Edgar seems to know her secret. Do you think she has more surprises down her sleeves?
Sleeves?? lol Lydia rarely sports sleeves, tattoo sleeves maybe. and if she did have them they would be full! Lydia's powers seem almost mystical in nature; she seems to see the future and makes predictions through the ink used by Samuel on her skin.

Will we get to learn more about her powers this season?
Her powers will become more defined in the episodes coming in the new year.

What was your first reaction upon learning what your character could do?
well, like many of the fans, there was so much that was unanswered. I had so many questions that i had to fill in the blanks myself. As an actor, its part of the job:)

What kind of powers would you, yourself, like to have?
hmm...to heal others

How did you prepare for the role? Did casting tell you that you would be covered with that many tattoos?
they did ask us all at the audition if we were claustrophobic in any way haha. And yes we did know it would involve tattoos. I loved the thought of it all though.

The show is hinting at a romance between your character and bad boy serial killer Sylar. Romances on Heroes have never been successful. If that is the case, how do you think this could bode for Lydia?
I cant say much about this because there will be more to come involving this storyline in the new year. Lydia is a different kind of girl;)

Heroes is not your first foray into Sci-Fi television. You’ve had quite a prominent guest part on a season 5 Stargate Atlantis episode called ''Identity'' where you played Neeva, a thief who switches bodies with Dr. Keller. Is science-fiction a genre that ever appealed to you?
I LOVE sci fi!! I would be happy if that was the only genre I ever worked in again!! It is by far my favorite subject to read, to watch, to act....

Miss Olivieri, can you talk to us about your upcoming projects?
Well, I have two films coming out that i shot actually BEFORE Heroes one called Dozers and another called Drop Dead Gorgeous. Both are fun sci-fi films in which I play a lead role.

One last question: When you are not working on Heroes, what are your guilty pleasures on television?
Due to my profession, I try to watch a little of everything. This can be exhausting and unfortunate because even the shows i love to watch do not get their fair share of watching. I also tend to favor shows i would love to be a part of such as: True Blood, Dollhouse, Dexter, Californication, Fringe, Heroes, the Discovery show (i do not need to be on this one lol) unless i was doing a travel show which i would not be opposed to! Old westerns are fun. You know every piece of cinematic art i have not had the pleasure of watching i try to see and that is a lot. It is my classroom after all.

Thoughts on The End of Time

After seing The End of Time, the Opus of the David Tennant/Russell T. Davies Era of Doctor Who, I felt there's a few things I needed to share. There are questions that linger on my mind following the finale.

First, I need to say that I was relieved that part 2 was better than part 1 which I thought was a bit slow. The Resurrection of The Master - at least it's method - was on the tad ridiculous and so was his plan. Allright, the Master is insane. I get it. But couldn't Russell T. Davies have come up with something better?

Who was the mystery woman Wilf was seeing? Claire Bloom played a mystery woman simply called The Woman in the end credits who appeared to Wilf on a few occasions during The End of Time 2-parter. When the Doctor finally saw her in the final episode, he recognized her. Are we to understand this was an older incarnation of Rose? Did she find her way, along with Meta-Crisis Ten, to Gallifrey before the Time War, then became a Time Lady in her own right and was checking in on her beloved Doctor? Remember how she also appeared to Wilf on television and she did mention that she had been lost once, much like Rose was when she ended up in the parallel universe. Others have been pointing at Donna who still has the mind of a Time Lord locked away in her head. Or maybe it could even be the Doctor's Granddaughter Susan or even Romana! I wish Davies had not left that open. Only time and subsequent Doctor Who Show runners will tell.

Though I'm not a Martha Jones or Mickey Smith fan, I have to said I was grinning no end at the idea that the two of them had tied the knot following the event of Journey's End. Somehow, I find it fitting that Martha would fall for the much improved Mickey Smith. And so Martha Jones married a Smith. Now put them both in Torchwood. They were bad ass.

The Master sacrificing himself to save the Doctor. Okay, maybe he was really angry at the Time Lords who put the sound of the heartbeat of a Time Lord in his head. Have I said that John Simm was brilliant as the Master? if I haven't, there it is. There was a real chemistry between him and David Tennant. However, I'm disappointed to see him get locked with the other Time Lords in the Time War on Gallifrey, but it made for a hell of a spectacular scene. I hope Moffat will bring him back again at some point.

Wilf and Donna being ordinary? The Doctor has been mentionning how important both Donna and Wilf were. Donna kept running into the Doctor and Wilf found a man most people spend a lifetime looking for in a few hours. In the end, absolutely NO answer was given. This is one thing I hate about Davies, he dangles something in front of our eyes and conveniently forgets about it. I was also disappointed about Donna's lack of appearance. I love Donna, and as the best companion (in my humble opinion) she should have had a better send off. Still, I'm happy she's getting married, and getting money (don't lose that ticket Donna!).

The Lord-President referencing to the Weeping Angels was goose bump inducing. Specially since we know that Steven Moffat is bringing them back for series 5. Did you also notice the 'weeping angels' pose the mysterious Time Lady and Mystery Time Lord (he was yet to be revealed)behind the Lord President were taking? Which brings me to say that it was a waste of the Time Lords. Can we finally get a proper look at that Time-War? And why in the world would you want to make the Time-Lords even bigger megalo-maniacs than the Master. I'm disappointed in this.

And the Lord President is Rassilon!!! One word, just one word uttered by the Doctor. There it is, the first of the Time Lords in all his Timothy Dalton glory!

The Doctor visiting is old companion was a lovely touch. I was smiling broadly when the Doctor introduced Captain Jack to Alonso Frame. I wish I'd seen more of them though. I was almost expecting Captain Jack to show it by the middle of the episode to help the Doctor but alas, it didn't happen.

The Doctor seeing Rose for the last time was sweet but very disappointing. The woman he loves got 2 minutes of screen time? He didn't even say he loved her? WASTED opportunity there. Yes, she'll live happily with Meta-Crisis Ten but this was Proper Ten's chance to SAY it.

David Tennant was brilliant. Brilliant, wonderful, incredible, fantastic, amazing, beautiful, gorgeous etc.etc. That man can act his little heart out I say. My God. He gave it his all, I find no fault in him or his performance. Everything he felt we, as the audience, felt. Every line he gave was delivered with conviction. His last words 'I don't want to go' just broke me down in tears again. I wanted to scream don't go!!! What a regeneration! The power it unleashed damaged parts of the TARDIS, which would explain the changes that will be made to it for series 5. I really, really love Tennant. I wish him the best for his new series, Rex is Not your Lawyer. People, tune in!

But just how sad was it that the four knocks came from Wilf. That just about killed me.

As for the appearance of Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, people have already criticised him as being a clone of David Tennant. I say give him a chance. A few seconds are not enough to judge him, and know that his lines were written by Steven Moffat and not Davies. I myself liked him - though I'm not sure about the whole 'Geronimo' thing.

Still, I say bring on Series 5!

My Top Ten Favourite Tenth Doctor Episodes

In honor of the last David Tennant Doctor Who episode, I decided to compile a list of my ten favourite Tenth Doctor episodes.

These were chosen for many reasons. Fun factor, great David Tennant acting, wonderful story, something important and significant happening. Of course, I like more than 10 episodes but I had to focus and restrain myself to ten. Ten for Ten!

Those are my favourite and so opinions can differ about them. Listed below and in no particular order they are:

• Human Nature/The Family of Blood (s3e8-9): This has magnificent David Tennant acting written all over these episodes. He makes the human John Smith so utterly different than the Doctor that it's perfect.



• Midnight (s4e8): Again, an acting Tour de Force from David Tennant. One of my favourite episodes ever. And also, in my opinion, one of the Crown Jewels from Russell T. Davies.



• Doomsday (s2e13): The Doctor, almost saying I love you to Rose Tyler. The ending was a real tearjerker.



• Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead (s4e8-9): The Doctor has a wife? Nothing is made clear about who River Song is to the Doctor but she does know his name. A fun, fascinating and by the end, poignant episode.



• Partners in Crime (s4e1): Besides the ridiculousness of the plot (people's fat creating Adipose babies) the whole miming scene in the office when Donna and the Doctor see each other again is too hilarious for words.



• The Fires of Pompeii (s4e2): Wonderful, poignant and incredible episode. Plus it's Pompeii! The cast went to Rome's Cinecittà Studios where the HBO series Rome was filmed.



• The Waters of Mars (s4e16): Scary special, it has an incredible older female companion in Adelaide (the only one who hasn't kissed the Doctor, I have to say). The Doctor sort of looses it for a moment but her sacrifice brings our beloved Ten back from the brink.



• The Stolen Earth/Journey's End (s4e12-13): Bombastic and pompous? A bit yes. But the Doctor gets reunited with Rose, a Meta-Crisis Tenth Doctor is created following a partial regeneration from the Doctor to his hand in the jar (long story), and Rose sorts of gets her man. Poor Doctor. Plus we have a Doctor-Donna! Captain Jack was in obvious overload.



• The Unicorn and the Wasp (s4e7): I love the take on the whodunit genre and I love the choice of Agatha Christie. Though not perfect, it has some amazing moments, with one of them being a complete hilarious riot!

• The End of Time (s4e18): Not the Best Ever, the finale has some problems but David Tennant's acting in it is so superb, so faultless that I'm including it in my list. That and it's his last episode.
  

Some of you will say: How come Blink is not there?!?!?! Though a fantastic episode, there's not much Ten in there so I chose not to include it.

Doctor Who Series 5 Trailer!!!

Spoilers ahead!!!

The Trailer for Series 5 of Doctor Who is up!! I have to say, I'm quite surprised at some of the things I just saw. Besides the Daleks and vampires and River Song that I already reported on, I was most shocked to see the new Doctor firing a gun, though not as shocked to see new companion Amy Pond planting a big wet one on Doctor Eleven. He still has it it seems :)
