2 days ago, I posted a link to a whole bunch of pictures from the filming of the Van Gogh episode of Doctor Who (see it here).

Today, there is a video of that filming with Matt Smith as The Doctor, Karen Gillan as his companion Amy Pond and Tony Curran as Vincent Van Gogh.

Doctor Who Season 5 Filming Pics!

Scootyboy has put up a plethora of filming pics from Doctor Who's season 5 on his photobucket account. Go here to view them all. The pics date from January 6th 2010 so today!

It appears they are filming the Van Gogh episode. We see actor Tony Curran, who plays the artist, in many of the pics.

Seems like the Master Painter will get a trip in the Tardis!!

Vampire Rumours for New Doctor Who

Digital Spy reports that the cast and crew of Doctor Who has left England to go film a special episode of Doctor Who in Croatia. The rumour is that there will be vampires.

Supposedly, a new character named Rory and rumoured to be the boyfriend of the Eleventh Doctor's companion, Amy Pond, will appear in the episode.

Over at Vercernji.hr, which appears to be a Croatian site, there is a plethora of interesting pics (go here to see them). On these pictures, you can clearly see the peasants dressed in Renaissance Period costumes and companion Amy Pond wearing something other than that horrible 80s ensemble she was wearing on some of the pics we previously saw. Thank you costume department!!!

The Daleks Are Back on Doctor Who?

The always excellent Life, Doctor Who and Combom reports some filming on season 5 of Doctor Who and says that we will be seeing the Doctor's oldest and most resilient ennemies: The Daleks.

From the recent pictures taken by Scooty (which you can see here), we can make out the top of a Dalek's head. You can also see Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and actors dressed as soldiers from WWII. Filming is currently taking place at the Glamorgan Building at Cardiff University.

These pictures support earlier reports I have read about filming in an underground WWII bunker in Swansea, Wales. These reports can be found here with pics here.

I myself I'm very much excited about the return of the Daleks though many people have complained that they have been overutilised during Russel T. Davies' run of the series. In a way, I find that it links the series together, even though Steven Moffatt now runs the show. I would have feared a complete deconnection from what has been done before just because there is a new man at the helm and a completely whole new cast.
