Doctor Who ''Victory of the Daleks'' Inside Trekker Review

Victory of the Daleks is written by Mark Gatiss who also previously wrote the fantastic ''The Unquiet Dead'' and the less so ''The Idiot's Lantern.'' This episode unfortunately suffers a bit compared to the previous two ones but is still none-the-less an interesting romp. As a stand-alone Dalek themed episode, it will undoubtedly be compared to ''Dalek'', the series great 1 episode written by Robert Shearman.

Doctor Who ''Victory of the Daleks'' Episode Details

Den of Geek has some info about the upcoming episode 3 of Doctor Who Series 5 titled Victory of the Daleks that is set to air on April 17 in the UK.

It takes place during WWII and features the great Winston Churchill (played by Ian McNeice) and Doctor Who returning baddies: the Daleks.

Taking the information from Doctor Who Magazine number 420, available in the UK since April 1 (unfortunately we in North America have to wait 2 months before it lands here), Den of Geek reveals that:

the Daleks are referred to as "Ironsides" and have been developed by the British army as a new weapon. But is there really a "victory" in store for The Doctor's oldest foe? I guess we'll just have to wait and see but both Steven Moffat and Gatiss suggest that the title is literal...
[Den of Geek]

Are we to see the Daleks gaining a victory over our beloved Doctor? Tell me it isn't so!

Also, the BBC Press Office has released the episode summary for the episode:

The Doctor has been summoned by an old friend, but in the Cabinet War Rooms far below the streets of blitz-torn London, it's his oldest enemy he finds waiting for him, as the time-travelling adventures continue. The Daleks are back – but can Winston Churchill be in league with them?
[BBC Press Office]

Over at Life, Doctor Who and Combom, they hypothesise that the old friend could be Captain Jack Harkness. While my own wishful thinking would go completely giddy and mad if it were true, I doubt it since Steven Moffat ruled out returning characters from the Russel T. Davies era for the moment (though River Song IS returning). But the Mof may have a sweet spot for Captain Jack. Guess we'll know when we finally see the episode. [Life, Doctor Who and Combom]

What do you Guys think. Is Captain Jack the old friend? Are you looking forward to that episode?

Doctor Who Series 5 ''Victory of the Daleks'' Pics

Doctor Who Series 5's upcoming third episode is titled Victory of the Daleks. Set in WWII and written by Mark Gatiss - who also wrote Series 1's The Unquiet Dead and Series 2's The Idiot's Lantern - the episode features the character of Winston Churchill played by actor Ian McNeice and some little metal thingies called Daleks. I wonder what those Daleks are . . . Just kidding!

Here are some pictures from the episode. Enjoy!

A good little soldier always needs his gear

I want to play with my own little Dalek too! Weeeeee!!

Actor Ian McNeice is Winston Churchill. I'm not sure if he's mad or puzzled or something.
