Sherlock finally returns in brand new Series 3 interactive trailer

Sherlock is finally coming back for a long-awaited (2 bloody years!) third series on January 1st of 2014 on the BBC and a brand new interactive trailer has been released!

It’s been two years since Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) has faked his own death and now the famous detective is ready to return to 221B Baker Street and to his unsuspecting BFF Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman).

“I think I’ll surprise John. Pop in to Baker Street, who knows, jump out of a cake!" Tells Sherlock to his brother Mycroft (Mark Gatiss). Haha. Just awesome. He hasn't lost his arrogant and acerbic manners.

Have a look at the trailer below:

1st look at Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins: and look! The Dwarves too!

There it is! Our first official look at Martin Freeman as a young Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's upcoming The Hobbit 2-part film.

We're also getting our very first glimpse at the dwarves accompanying Bilbo on his journey (or rather, it's Bilbo who's actually accompanying the dwarves on their journey, thanks to Gandalf), with a direct view at Richard Armitage (Spooks) as Thorin Oakenshield (I wonder where Being Human's Aidan Turner is in there... hmmmm).

I have to say the dwarves are not as colorful as they're described in J.R.R Tolkien's book, but that's more in keeping with the look of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

And Freeman does look wonderful as Bilbo, doesn't he?

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch to join Peter Jackson's The Hobbit!

In what is absolutely AWESOME news, seems that Sherlock himself, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, will be joining the cast of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit!

That’s what Cumberbatch’s co-star, actor Martin Freeman (who plays the younger Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's two-parter prequel to The Lord of the Rings), let slip when the duo picked up the BAFTA award for Best Drama for Sherlock on Sunday.

Sherlock's Martin Freeman may play Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit!

Yesterday, a story broke in The Sun that beloved British actor Martin Freeman -- hot off a successful run on BBC's Sherlock as Dr. Watson -- had been in the run to play the lead role in The Hobbit, that the actor had been offered a seven figure deal, and that he sadly had to turn it down because of his commitment to film the second series of Sherlock.

'Sherlock' Coming to North America on October 24th!

I've been talking a lot about Sherlock these past few weeks, putting up pictures and some video interviews. Now I have some good news for my North American readers.

You will be happy to know that Sherlock is finally coming to PBS Masterpiece Mystery with the first episode, A Study in Pink, set to air on October 24th.

Episodes two and three, The Blind Banker and The Great Game, will follow on October 31 and November 7 respectively.

Co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, Sherlock is a modern re-imagining of the adventures of the popular Sir Arthur Conan Doyle detective hero, Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch), and his ever faithful sidekick Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman).

New Pics for 'Sherlock' Episode 3 'The Great Game'

The Great Game is the last episode of the new BBC series Sherlock by Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat and Doctor Who writer and actor Mark Gatiss.

As I mentioned a few days ago here, in the wake of very good ratings and positive reviews the BBC now seems keen for more episodes so The Great Game certainly wont be the last. Still, it will be a long wait for us in the meanwhile.

Enjoy the pics!

The Doctor and Sherlock Holmes Are a Perfect Fictional Team

This is what Martin Freeman (The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy), who plays John Watson on Steven Moffat's new hit show Sherlock, thinks.

The British actor told What's on TV:
"I don't feel as passionate about Doctor Who as Stephen does, but I've enjoyed watching it more since being a father.

"We met Matt Smith while filming Sherlock in Cardiff because the Baker Street set is next to the [Who] set. It was strange seeing Sherlock Holmes and The Doctor together. They are the perfect fictional team."
Sherlock's first episode, A Study in Pink, garnered an impressive audience of 7.5 million viewers.

The next episode, The Blind Banker, airs this Sunday on BBC One at 8h30pm.
